Paper chase
OffBeat's humble office has been inundated with enquiries on the different paper used in the last edition (Issue 679).
Readers would have noticed the pullout feature on internal communications and the Police Email Network, two subjects of tremendous interest to Force staff.
As the Information Systems and Service Quality Wings had been planning to publish leaflets on these topics, it was considered more cost-effective to design a special pullout considering OffBeat's wide circulation.
The glossy newsprint was therefore chosen for that issue not only for its attractiveness, but to ensure durability and cleanliness of the pullout which readers could keep for reference.
Savings made by scrapping the leaflet idea offset the extra costs of the glossy newsprint.
OffBeat vows to continue trying different approaches to keep the paper attractive, modern and informative. We hope readers' views on the use of different newsprint, and other feedback and suggestions, continue to flow to help us bring you a better read.
