The road to better driving

Performance pledge: PDS trainees in class using the Human Aspects of Police Driving Chinese edition

OffBeat approached several Police Driving School trainees undergoing driving attitude studies using the Human Aspects of Police Driving book, and here's what they had to say.

Sergeant Tin Hung-shing of Traffic Hong Kong Island (Enforcement and Control): "I have learned and now fully agree that for driving, the human aspect is a very important part. It is necessary to think carefully about what you are doing behind the wheel when you are driving in an operation and not thinking of just the operation itself."

SGT Yau Man-ting of Police Tactical Unit Headquarters: "Attitude training has definitely changed the way I look at driving. It tells us about the human brain and how it reacts during the course of our driving duties. Safety is the most important aspect in getting to a scene."
