'Phew, for EU KW!'

Magnificent seven: Applauded EU KW officers

Seven Kowloon West Emergency Unit officers received praise recently for stopping two robberies.

Police Constable Fong Wah-tak of Number Four Platoon was presented with a souvenir by a watch company on June 1 for arresting a robber and recovering the stolen items. He was off duty in Nathan Road, Mong Kok on May 12 when he nabbed the culprit, fleeing after snatching watches worth over $80,000.

Meanwhile, six Number Three Platoon officers were presented accolades by a bank on June 2 for thwarting another robbery.

Hearing an alarm while patrolling in Yau Ma Tei on April 26, the officers rushed to the International Bank of Asia in Woosung Street and caught a man red-handed.

He admitted demanding money by showing a piece of paper saying he was carrying explosives.

The officers were Station Sergeant Tam Yiu-wing, Sergeant Cheng Muk-kan, and PCs Cheung Ka-ho, Chan Chun-kit, Ng King-hon and Chan Sung-lim.
