CPB kicks off card crusade

Today's special: CPB SIP Stephen Jones with the anti-crime cards set for restaurant tables

The Crime Prevention Bureau has joined forces with four credit card companies in an anti-pickpocketing drive.

A campaign was launched on May 31 reminding the public to safeguard their belongings as abuse of their credits cards by others could bring heavy losses.

About 5,000 menu card holders containing anti-pickpocket slogans would soon be distributed to popular restaurants across Hong Kong Island, closely followed by those in Kowloon and the New Territories.

CPB Senior Inspector Stephen Jones, Federation of Restaurants and Related Trades chairman Ng Tak-leung, and credit card company representatives launched the drive at a press conference at a popular Causeway Bay Chinese restaurant.
