Open Day fun on the way!

Get set for the Police Open Day 2000 set to offer the public a unique insight into Police life while raising money for the Community Chest, November 25 and 26.

The two-day carnival in the Police Training School grounds, will feature a host of fun and interesting activities reflecting a modern and professional Force and the healthy and cultural lifestyles of its members.

Some 20 formations, including the Special Duties and Police Tactical Units will demonstrate their skills and courage through simulated riots, terrorist attacks and hostage scenarios. Recruits will show their skills in the drill square, and both the two and four-legged members of the Police Dog Unit will get their teeth into a number of demonstrations.

There will be performances by assorted Police cultural clubs and 20 game stalls to provide the fun for young and old.

Two sets of police collectibles specially designed for the Open Day will be on offer - limited-edition figurines of movie star Jackie Chan in six different police uniforms and a scale model police motorcycle.

A limited number of tickets are now available for Force staff to pre-order at $30 each, first-come first-served through all Training and Staff Relations Officers. Discounted pre-orders for the souvenir sets are also available - $200 for the figurine set and $100 for the motorcycle.

The same offer is also available to the public, who can order through the Police Public Relations Branch, 4/F Harcourt House, 39 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai. Or call 2866-6149/41/56/91 during office hours.

Both ticket and souvenir sales will help the Chest, and payment must be made by cheque.
