New home for T KW

D OPS Dick Lee (background) oversees the Hung Hom handover

Kowloon West Traffic is set to move into Hung Hom Police Station.

Director of Operations Dick Lee Ming-kwai officiating at the December 1 handover ceremony, said the Enhanced Productivity Programme had brought about the occupancy change. KW Traffic would move from the old Mong Kok Station. Under the Police Station Amalgamation Project, Kowloon City District was being reduced from three divisions to two with Hung Hom and Ho Man Tin merging under one command based at HMT Station. Despite the amalgamation, Hung Hom Station would maintain its reporting facility.

"As a result of the move, Kowloon City District will be able to provide a more efficient and cost-effective service to the public without affecting ground coverage," said KC District Commander Peter Burbidge-King. "In addition, with the savings made, we will actually be enhancing the beat coverage on the reclamation area in Hung Hom."
