US Consul kudos
American Consul General Michael Klosson hailed the Force's work in smashing a human smuggling ring December 10, when 12 Mainland illegal immigrants were found in a United States-bound shipping container at Kwai Chung. Nine men appeared in Tsuen Wan Court three days later, charged with aiding and abetting illegal immigration.
Mr Klosson called Commissioner Eddie Hui Ki-on to offer his congratulations.
"This is yet another example of the good law enforcement work being done by the Hong Kong authorities to deal with the issue of human smuggling," Mr Klosson said.
