Force anti-crime campaign effective

(This letter was sent to CP Eddie Hui)

Police encouraged various Districts to organise their own 2000 Fight Crime Campaign with a theme of "Help People To Help Themselves" in June. Led by Chief Inspector Cheung Kam-po and Station Sergeant Chau Siu-man, officers of Sha Tin District Police Community Relations Office worked hard with the District Fight Crime Committee and District Office to hold a considerable number of events during the summer vacation that spread fight crime messages to about 30,000 people.

The activities included the recruitment and training of Youth Fight Crime Ambassadors to hold seminars and launch promotional events in their own districts, and a carnival for the young ambassadors. The activities effectively put across fight crime messages.

Despite a very tight schedule, Sha Tin PCRO officers managed to get the job done with utmost efficiency. The local community was deeply impressed by their tact in liaison and logistics.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for their good work and our special thanks go to Woman Sergeant Lau Tsz-fan and Woman Police Constable Chung Siu-fong for their contributions to the smooth arrangements of all activities.

Ching Cheung-ying
Sha Tin District Fight Crime Committee
Chairman
