The Junior Police Officers' Association Spring Reception was held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on February 9. More than 500 guests attended, including Commissioner Tsang Yam-pui, Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Douglas Lau, DCP (Management) Dick Lee and other senior officers.
"As DCP MAN over the past few years, I worked closely with the JPOA in solving quite a number of problems. Most of the topical issues discussed by the Police Force Council have been satisfactorily resolved and I am sure the two remaining important items, the 48-hour working week and JPO housing benefits, would soon be dealt with"
JPOA Chairman Lau Kam-wah said: "We continued to serve as a channel of communication between management and staff during the past year. We worked hard for members' interests while adopting a reasonable attitude towards difficulties. That is why our association has a good relationship with management."
Other guests included JPOA Founder-President Maria Tam Wai-chu and honorary legal adviser Foo Tak-ching.
