Fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 39-year-old man was killed and two men, aged 25 and 43 were injured in Kwun Tong early this (January 7) morning.

At about 4 am, a taxi driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along the first lane Kwun Tong By-pass towards Kwun Tong. On reaching near Sing Tao Building, another light goods vehicle was seen broken down on the same lane. The taxi driver then steered right to the second lane but reportedly rammed into the right rear part of the light goods vehicle.

Sustaining injuries, three male taxi passengers, aged between 25 and 43, were sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment. The 39-year-old passenger was later certified dead at 8.23 am.

The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East.
