Four persons charged with possession of dangerous drugs

Police will charge two men and two women jointly with one count of possession of dangerous drugs later tonight (June 14).

The four persons, aged between 16 and 47, were among the 10 people arrested by officers of Regional Crime Unit, New Territories North yesterday (June 13) following intensive investigation into a wounding case in Tuen Mun at about 1 am on June 12.

One of the two suspects in the case used a pistol-like-object to point at a 50-year-old man inside a store situated at Leung Tin Tsuen. The two suspects escaped later and left behind one bullet and a pistol magazine containing four bullets at scene. At about 5.45 pm on the same day, Police received another report that 15 rounds of ammunition were found abandoned inside a hotel room in Tin Shui Wai.

Police officers arrested the four persons in a residential unit in Tai Po at about 2 am yesterday, following the seizure of 70 grams of ketamine inside the flat. A pistol was later recovered underneath a metal drainage cover near a hillside in Tai Wo Tsuen, Tai Po.

They will appear in Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (June 15) morning.

Meanwhile, the remaining three men and three women, aged between 17 and 27, arrested later in Kowloon areas were released on bail pending further enquiries.
