Appeal for information on dead body found in Western District (with photos)

Police today (August 9) appealed to the members of the public for information on a dead body found in Western District on July 30.

At about 10.15pm on July 30, Police received report that a man was found floating at the sea off Western District Public Cargo Working Area on Connaught Road West. He was rescued and rushed to the Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead. It was later confirmed to be a man aged between 60 and 70, 1.65 metres tall and of medium built.

He was wearing a light blue small checkered pattern short-sleeved shirt, grey trousers and a white underwear vest when discovered. No identity document was found on him at scene.

No suspicious circumstances were detected in the initial enquiries.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the deceased to contact the investigating officers of Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-unit of Western Division at 2859 4280.
