Fatal traffic accident in Sai Wan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 70-year-old man was killed in Connaught Road West, Sai Wan today (August 17).

Shortly after 4 pm, a light good vehicle (LGV) driven by a 30-year-old man was travelling along West-bound Connaught Road. When reaching the road junction with Hill Road, the LGV reportedly rammed down a 70-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the victim was sent to the Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead at 8.16 pm.

Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is proceeding.
