Fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 82-year-old woman was killed in Yuen Long this morning (October 7).

The accident occurred at about 4.30 am. A light goods vehicle driven by a 41-year-old man was travelling along southbound Yau San Street. Upon reaching near the road junction with Kin Lok Street, it reportedly knocked down an 82-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.46 am.

Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
