Appeal for information on abandoned baby girl (with photo)

Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a baby girl who was found abandoned in Castle Peak today (October 25).

Shortly after 4.45 pm, a female staff member found a baby girl inside a female toilet at Yeung Siu Hang Garden on Yeung Tsing Road. She immediatley made a report to the Police.

Police officers arrived at the scene and located the baby wrapped in two towels, one in pink and one in yellow, in a blue bag. The baby, with no apparent injury, was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for examination.

The baby girl, with an umbilical cord attached, is about two to five days on delivery and weighs 3.26 kilograms.

Officers of the Divisional Investigation Team of Castle Peak are following up the case.

Police urged the next-of-kin of the baby girl or anyone who knows her identity or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 2404 3570 or 2404 3555.
