Appeal for information on abandoned girl (with photo)

Police today (April 16) are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a girl who was found abandoned in Hung Hom.

At about 2.15 pm today, a 70-year-old man made a report at Hung Hom Police Station that he found an abandoned girl at his residence at 208 Ma Tau Wai Road.

The girl's mother left her girl to her neighbour, the informant, for temporary care on March 10. The girl's mother, claiming to pick up her girl on March 12 had failed to return ever since.

The girl, believed to be a South-Asian, aged about three, stands about one metre tall. She is of fat build, has a round face and long black curly hair.

The girl was wearing a white shirt with pink long sleeves, light green shorts and a pair of sports shoes in orange and white colour when discovered.

Police urge the relatives of the girl or anyone who has information to offer to contact the investigating officers, the Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-Unit, Hung Hom at 2761 8233 or the Hung Hom Police Station at 2761 8219.
