Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which an 83-year-old woman was killed in Sham Shui Po yesterday (April 17) afternoon.

At about 1.40 pm, a public light bus driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling along Lai Chi Kok Road towards Mong Kok. On reaching near Nam Cheong Street, it reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to the Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 9.53 pm last night.

Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, is underway.
