Missing girl located in Shenzhen

The 10-year-old girl who was reported missing yesterday in Yau Ma Tei was located in Shenzhen today (May 29).

The girl, Tai Chi-kwan, was brought to a tutorial centre in Yau Ma Tei by her grandfather at about 3.20 pm yesterday. Her grandfather left after he saw her went to the main entrance of the building.

At about 3.45pm, the girl's family was informed by the tutorial centre that Tai Chi-kwan has not turned up at the centre. Her family then made a report to the Police at about 5.33 pm.

Police investigation revealed that the girl went to the Mainland via Lowu Terminal at about 5 pm. A request was therefore made through Liaison Bureau to Public Security Bureau (PSB) Shenzhen to assist in locating the girl. The father of the girl also went to Shenzhen to make a report to PSB this morning.

Three Hong Kong residents found the girl wandering at a shopping mall in Shenzhen at about 11.45 am today. They got the contact number of the girl's mother and informed her accodingly. The father then went to the place and identified his daughter.

The girl sustained no injury and arrangements are being made to bring her back to Hong Kong. The circumstances under which the girl had gone missing are under active enquiry by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West.
