Appeal for information on abandoned child (with photo)

Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a child who was found abandoned in Sai Kung on June 7.

At about 11.45 am on June 7, a woman found a boy aged about 10 to 15 sitting on Sham Wan Beach. A report was then made to the Police.

Standing about 1.5 metres tall, the boy was wearing a blue and grey long-sleeved pullover, a grey and white vest, a pair of beige trousers and a pair of sports shoes when found. A cloth with a name written in simplified Chinese character Liu Zelong was sewed on the vest. He was also wearing a red plastic electronic watch and a string with a green stone. A plastic bag with two RMB $10 banknotes was found inside the pocket of his trousers. The boy carried no identity document.

Police urged the relatives of the child or anyone who has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 2352 9456 or the Wong Tai Sin Police Station at 2352 9339.
