The Regional Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island (RCPO HKI) organized the "Hong Kong Island Best Security Services Award 2019-2020 Presentation Ceremony" on 24 November 2020. A total of 200 property management units were presented with the "Outstanding Security Services - Industrial/Commercial Property Award" or the "Outstanding Security Services - Residential Property Award". 150 security personnel were presented with the "Outstanding Security Personnel Award". 50 security personnel were presented with the "Best Security Personnel Award", with 10 of them selected "The Best Top Ten Security Personnel". In view of the pandemic situation and the group gathering restrictions, only 50 awardees of the "Best Security Personnel Award" and representatives of companies, organizations and institutions, which had actively supported and assisted the Police in spreading crime prevention messages, were invited to attend the presentation ceremony in which they were thanked for their effort. Hong Kong Island Regional Commander KWOK Pak-chung also commended a bank employee for his assistance in thwarting a phone scam.
The Selection Panel comprised representatives from the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, the four District Fight Crime Committees of Hong Kong Island, Teens and Elderly Mission Committee and Crime Hong Kong Island Regional Headquarters. All awardees, through assisting the Police in saving lives and arresting criminals, have significantly contributed to crime prevention and protection of their clients’ property.
