Crime Matters

The "Hong Kong Island Best Security Services Award Presentation Ceremony 2021 - 2022" organized by the Regional Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island was held on 1 December 2022. The Selection Panel was comprised of the representatives from the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, the four District Fight Crime Committees of Hong Kong Island, Teens and Elderly Mission Committee and Crime Hong Kong Island Regional Headquarters. All the awardees have made significant contribution to crime prevention and protection of their clients’ property, which included assisting the Police in saving lives and taking arrest actions.


There were in total 200 property management units presented with the "Outstanding Security Services - Industrial/Commercial Property Award" and the "Outstanding Security Services - Residential Property Award". Two hundred security personnel were presented with the "Outstanding Security Personnel Award". Of the two hundred guards, fifty won the “Best Security Personnel Award”, of whom ten were selected as the “Best Top Ten Security Personnel”. “The Most Popularity Security Personnel” was newly added to the presentation ceremony this year. The awardees of the “Best Top Ten Security Personnel” were invited to make a self-introduction on video and upload it online for the public to select their most favorite security guard.


The Champion to receive the “Best Top Ten Security Personnel Award” of the Year, Mr TAI, won the award out of his assistance to the Police in the housing estate where he worked contributing to the arrest of two illegal immigrants, who were found to be connected with a series of burglary cases, Mr TAI fully displayed his wisdom, bravery and a high level of flexibility.


The acting Regional Commander (Hong Kong Island) LAM Hung-chuen, acknowledged the vigorous support and assistance from the public groups to help spreading crime prevention information, and hoped the Police could maintain a close liaison with the public to prevent crime together.
