Kowloon West Best Security Services Awards effectively encourage the property management industry to assist the police to prevent and combat crime

The Kowloon West Best Security Services Awards Presentation Ceremony 2016, jointly organised by the Kowloon West Regional Crime Prevention Office(RCPO KW), the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority(SGSIA) and the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies(HKAPMC), took place at the PSRC on May 25. Officiating at the event were Assistant Commissioner of Police CHEUK Hau-yip, KW Regional Commander, Mr. CHAM Ka-hung Daniel BBS.,MH.,JP, Chairman of the SGSIA, and Mr. LEE Chun-lai Andrew, President of the HKAPMC.

Over the years, through the Best Security Services Awards Scheme, KW Region has strived to motivate the security services industry to proactively raise the quality of their security and property management services, to provide the members of the public with security services of an outstanding quality thereby preventing crimes. The Scheme also commends personnel in the industry for their outstanding performance helping the Police combat crime during the past year.

The Regional VanGUARD is a good example of the fact that the KW Region has been working with different sectors to launch anti-crime schemes to enhance the awareness of the public and stakeholders to combat crime more effectively. The KW Region has been assisted and supported by the HKAPMC and The Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA). Through the scheme, frontline security officers are encouraged to report information obtained from their daily work to the police, the Police will also disseminate crime alerts and crime trends, to fully expand the crime prevention network and to work together to prevent and combat crime.

This year’s Gold and Silver Award winners of the Best Security Guard from both the HKAPMC the HKHA assisted the Police in arresting offenders, highlighting their devotion to duty and professionalism.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police CHEUK Hau-yip, encourages them to continue our mutual trust and partnership to ensure Hong Kong remains one of the safest and most stable societies in the world.
