New Territories North (NTN) Regional Best Security Guard Awards 2015 Presentation Ceremony was held at Yuen Long Theatre on May 19 to commend security guards with outstanding performance. The ceremony, officiated by Regional Commander of NTN Mr. KWOK Ho-fai, Assistant Commissioner of Police, was attended by more than 700 guests, including Chairman of Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority Mr. Daniel CHAM Ka-hung, JP BBS MH, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Security Association Mr. LI Pui-lam, the chairmen and members of Fight Crime Committees of various districts in NTN, representatives from the security sector and the award-winning security guards.
An overwhelming response was received this year, with over 5,200 nominations submitted, which was a record high. The adjudicating panel eventually selected 973 winners for the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Top Ten and Merit Awards.
The event was well regarded by the industry. It was commented that not only could the event enhance the service quality and professional image of security guards effectively, but it could also strengthen the collaboration between the security sector and the police on fighting crime and achieving a safe community.
