Following the scope expansion on 16 December 2024 to cover prospective self-employed persons (e.g. private tutors, music teachers, sports coaches and persons providing door-to-door services), the SCRC Scheme will further expand to cover volunteers, including but not limited to volunteer teachers and volunteer sports coaches, from 15 December 2025.
The Online Applications Platform was launched on 16 December 2024. Eligible applicants can submit application forms and related documents, inquire about application status and settle application fees via the online platform. Online application is highly recommended to save waiting and in-person application processing time.
Starting from 15 December 2025, three additional designated police stations, namely Tseung Kwan O, Sheung Shui and Lantau North (Tung Chung), will be introduced for the online applicants to tender fingerprints by appointment in addition to the existing SCRC Office and the six designated police stations. There will be 10 locations (see table below) providing fingerprint-taking service in total.
