Tropical Cyclones and Rainstorms
1. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or Higher
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or higher is issued outside office hours, services at the Office will be suspended while the warning signal is in force.
If the warning signal No. 8 (or higher) is issued during office hours, the services will continue until the Office completes processing applications of all attending applicants with valid appointments of the day.
In general, the Office will resume services in 2 hours after the warning signal No. 8 is lowered. In case the warning signal is lowered or cancelled within 2 hours before the close of business, services will remain suspended for that day.
2. Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
If the warning signal is subsequently cancelled, service resumption arrangements same as that for Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or higher as stated above will be adopted.
If the warning signal is issued during office hours, services will continue until the close of business.
3. Appointments affected by the Above Arrangements
If applicants could not submit applications on the original appointment dates due to suspension of services mentioned above, they could visit the Office within office hours in the subsequent 7 working days after the Office resumes business.
They should produce their original appointment references to the staff for identification. Making new appointment or calling the Office to confirm is not needed.
The waiting time in the Office may inevitably be longer. Applicants are advised to remain patient and understandable.
