On May 14 and 15, 2016, my friends and I joined a training program organised by Kwai Tsing District, Sha Tin District and Adventure Ship. The aim of the program is to build up our self-esteem and confidence through sea adventures.

On the first day, we climbed up the Jockey Club Huan, where was the platform for us to learn and experience.

Then, we had our two-day lessons on this floating classroom. By learning the safety regulations and having the exciting training activities, we learnt how to overcome anxiety, face challenges by ourselves and cooperate with others.

We had many activities, for example, rope and knot tying, trying to use sailing dinghies and steering the rescue boat, preparing meals for 60 people, and other sea trainings.

My favourite activity was steering the rescue boat. That was the first time for me to control some engines. It was not that easy to control the direction of the boat.

That was a great experience for me because I enhanced my creativity, communication and problem solving skills after joining the program.
