President Xi Jinping visited Hong Kong on an inspection trip from June 30 to July 1 as part of celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Police Force mobilised various formations to conduct a security operation for the trip, with each formation drawing up operational plans and arranging deployment across the territory. The officers were all committed to carrying out their duties professionally and proficiently to ensure the entire security operation was safe and orderly.

The Force held a Charity Concert at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on July 30 and 31 to celebrate Hong Kong's return to the Motherland. The Police Band shared the stage with young performers from the Hong Kong Drum Ensemble, Hong Kong Vigor Marching Band, Music for Our Young Foundation and Yaumati Kaifong Association School Show Choir as well as a number of renowned local musicians and singers. More than $5 million was raised and donated to four charities on youth services, support for patients of Alzheimer's disease and protection of animal rights.

The Guard of Honour from the Drill and Musketry Unit of the Police College, the Police Band, the Police Dog Unit and the Junior Police Call took part in the 'Together We Prosper' – Grand Parade by Disciplined Services and Youth Groups on September 24 to celebrate the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR, hosted by the Security Bureau. The grand parade displayed a series of marvelous performances, including the first joint Chinese-style foot drill and various themed shows, conducted together by eight disciplined and auxiliary services as well as nine youth groups.

The Junior Police Call (JPC) held its first JPC Flag-raising Competition to time it with the HKSAR's 25th anniversary. More than 80 schools sent participating teams to help their primary and secondary students understand the raising of the national flag, boost their sense of national identity and pride, and learn about national education.
