Chief Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch Au Chin-chau and members of the Junior Police Call (JPC) Central Advisory Board, Mr Ng Siu-keung and Dr Chan Wing-ho, led a delegation of 24 JPC members to visit Harbin in Heilongjiang Province as well as eastern Russia from June 5 to 12 to enhance the JPC's understanding of "One Belt, One Road" and a couple of cities along the route.

The delegation visited a police station at Blagoveshchensk in eastern Russia and the Public Security Bureau (PSB) in Harbin to get to know their daily duties as well as their equipment and accoutrements. The delegates were given a warm welcome by the receiving units and were told that the JPC was the first Hong Kong youth group to visit the police station in Blagoveshchensk and the Harbin PSB. The JPC delegates had a casual dialogue with the police officers in both cities.

The delegates also took this opportunity to learn about the daily life, work, culture and environmental protection measures of people in Blagoveshchensk and Harbin. In addition, the delegation toured the Harbin Institute of Technology and Heihe Third Secondary School, at which the JPC delegates had a cultural exchange with the students there. The event has increased bilateral ties between the delegates and the students.

To conclude, the visit had broadened the vision of the JPC delegates and enhanced their knowledge about the two cities.
