New Territories North (NTN) Region invited 30 Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) leaders and principals to a sharing session at its Regional Headquarters on July 13 with a view to enhancing mutual ties.

NTN Regional Commander Kwok Ho-fai expressed gratitude to the participants for their assistance in disseminating crime prevention message to NEC communities. Then three NEC officers, namely Faisal Abdul from NTN, Heina Rizwan Mohammad from Border District and Niraj Gurung from Tuen Mun District, shared their work experience. It was hoped that the NEC leaders would tell their respective group about these good examples to attract more aspiring NEC youngsters to join the Force.

Following the session, Mr Kwok visited a religious centre in Tai Po on August 5 at the invitation of their Imam. Accompanied by Tai Po District Commander Patrick Laidler, Mr Kwok discussed with the centre members about the crime situation and ways to prevent illegal acts.

On separate occasions on August 14, Mr Kwok and Police Community Relations Officer of Yuen Long District Wong Lai-ying attended celebration activities of the Pakistan Independence Day organised by Hong Kong Youth Betterment Association and Women's International Guild respectively, to share the joy with over 1 200 Pakistanis.
