Healthy Lifestyle Day and Fit for Tomorrow Poster Competition Presentation Ceremony

THE centrepiece of the recent Healthy Lifestyle Day held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club (Sunday October 18) was the Fit for Tomorrow Poster Competition presentation ceremony, with Acting DCP MAN Leung Fung-shun the event's guest of honour.

CSP PS Martin Samson and Acting CSP SR&CS Jawaid Khan were also on hand joining close to 3,000 Force members and their families who had a great time taking part in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that included mini-archery, an adventure club exhibition, elementary golfing and kite-flying workshop.

Other highlights of the Day included active involvement in a fitness challenge, table tennis, busy taxation and education insurance enquiry counters and a quit smoking promotion. Also attracting participants was a stress management seminar, and a stress management profile analysis and exhibition.

SP S&R PS Mak Kwai-sing said: "The Healthy Lifestyle Fund has been set up with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally, and to encourage Force members to adopt prudent financial management. The Healthy Lifestyle Working Group also aims at encouraging Force members to participate in sports and cultural activities with their families."

Mr Mak said that the Healthy Lifestyle Day and Fit for Tomorrow Poster Competition were two of the premiere events organised by the Healthy Lifestyle Working Group. Regarding the poster competition, 85 entries were received - most of a very high standard. Some of the winning designs would be used to make calendars and distributed to all formations.

The poster competition (which got under way last summer) is categorised into two groups, the Force member category and family member category. Winner of the Force member category was PC Choy Yuk-wah, with first runner-up PC Fan Hin-biu and second runners-up WPC Yu Siu-hung and WS/Sgt Tam Wai-fong.

Winner of the family member category was Chan Siu-wai. First runners-up were Chan Tsz-ching, Cheung Wah-keung and Li Kit-shan. The second runner-up was Cheng Shun-tsz.
