In recognition of the long-standing relationship between the Force and the Muslim community in Hong Kong, Acting Commissioner Wong Chi-hung and Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung attended Islamic "Iftar" dinners hosted separately by two Muslim groups for breaking the daily fast.

According to Muslim faith, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar is a holy month called Ramadan, during which Muslims will pray and fast from dawn till sunset.

Mr Wong, together with Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) Commander Kwok Pak-chung and other YTDIST officers, attended the "Iftar" dinner hosted by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong on June 13. The Chairperson of the Islamic group, Mr Qamar Minhas, thanked all guests and wished that racial harmony would be maintained in Hong Kong.

Three days later, Mr Chau and Wanchai District (WCHDIST) Commander Mak Chin-ho were invited to attend another "Iftar" dinner hosted by the Islamic Union of Hong Kong.
