Movie star Mr Arnold Schwarzenegger supported Operation Breakthrough and chose it as the designated charity for "Arnold Classic Asia", an annual multi-sport festival held at AsiaWorld-Expo on August 20 and 21 to promote sports, health and fitness activities. The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, and Mr Schwarzenegger attended a business lunch on August 19 to kick off the event.

Operation Breakthrough is a Police-led charity that uses sports as a means to help and rehabilitate young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to fight crime. Speaking on behalf of Operation Breakthrough at the kick-off event, Police Constable (PC) Yip Man-kuen told the guests how the project turned him from a youth-at-risk into a capable person to join the Force.

Mrs Lam praised all the volunteers of Operation Breakthrough. She complimented PC Yip, and acknowledged the positive influence of sports as an intervention strategy for youths-at-risk. Mr Schwarzenegger, a son of a police officer, expressed his honour at associating with Operation Breakthrough, and presented a cheque for $50,000 as a donation to Operation Breakthrough.
