"Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) Open Day & Annual Seminar for School Headmasters" took place at Sau Mau Ping Police Station on August 15, with over 600 community leaders, headmasters, teachers, students, parents and residents taking part in the event.

Sau Mau Ping Divisional Commander Lai Pik-ngor said that the event was organised to enhance public understanding of policing and strengthen liaison with local schools. Built on the theme of "Work hand in hand with the community and build a harmonious neighbourhood", the event covered booths about police work and equipment; guided tours to the police station; and a briefing on deception tactics delivered by the Commercial Crime Bureau.

On the other hand, representatives of the Narcotics Bureau and officers of SMPDIST exchanged views with local headmasters and school representatives to forge a deeper mutual understanding.

The event was held with the support of Kwun Tong District Council, Kowloon City District Council, Kwun Tong District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) and Kowloon City DFCC, Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council and Senior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council of SMPDIST as well as headmasters of local primary and secondary schools.
