The Hong Kong Police Force won the Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award 2016 in November following the honour of clinching the Top Winner of the Hong Kong MAKE Award 2016 and The Best in Knowledge Culture Award in August.

The annual Asian MAKE Award is organised by an independent international research organisation in knowledge management (KM) to recognise Asia's organisations and enterprises for their ability to leverage corporate knowledge to deliver superior performance in the areas of innovation, operational effectiveness and excellence in services and products.

The adjudicating panel of the Asian MAKE Award 2016, comprising Asian-based Fortune Global 500 senior executives and international KM experts, selected the Force as one of the 29 finalists and then named it as one of the winners of the contest.

The conferral of the Award not only recognises the Force as an admirable law enforcement agency in driving and implementing KM, but also confirms its role as a knowledge-powered learning organisation dedicated to serving Hong Kong in a global context.

The Force is the only police authority in Asia as well as the only government department, including public bodies, in Hong Kong winning the Asian MAKE Award 2016. The Force has been honoured with the award in 2009 and 2013, and thus this is the third time that the Force has been recognised as a winner of the Asian MAKE Award. The award presentation ceremony is scheduled to be held in January next year.
