The Recruitment Division (RECDIV) launched an overseas publicity campaign last December in a bid to attract Hong Kong students studying abroad to join the Force after graduation.

With the assistance of several Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices, RECDIV distributed the Force's publicity leaflets to Hong Kong students in six cities in Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia, where Common Recruitment Examination/Joint Recruitment Examination and Basic Law test were held, and deployed officers to London and Sydney to introduce police work to Hong Kong students there.

Moreover, RECDIV organised two career talks for undergraduates studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University College London. Chief Superintendent Mak Chin-ho, who was attending a training course at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, also joined the event and shared with the students his work experience and insights about the police career. Besides, RECDIV officers visited the London Metropolitan Police Service to exchange views on recruitment strategy and challenges.

Interested Hong Kong students, who meet the academic, language proficiency and physique requirements, are welcome to join the Force to serve the community. Further information is available on the Overseas Corner of the Police Public Page (http://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/15_recruit/oversea.html).
