To inspire more young people to join the Force, the Recruitment Division held the annual Recruitment Seminar with the theme of "experience the career life of a Police Constable" at the Police College on May 20. Over 370 participants from various Uniformed Groups, Project GROWTH, Junior Police Call, Yi Jin Diploma institutions and some Non-ethnic Chinese youth groups took part in the event.


The seminar kicked off with a welcoming speech by Chief Superintendent of the Human Resources Branch Lee Kwok-chung. Then recruitment officers introduced the selection criteria and selection process for Police Constable as well as various aspects of police foundation training such as tactics and weapon training, physical fitness training and foot drill. The participants were also invited to perform the role of police officers in different incident scenarios to get a personal experience of police work.


This year, the Recruitment Division invited six Force units, namely the Identification Bureau, Traffic Formation, Marine Police, the Counter Terrorism Response Unit, the Emergency Unit and the Police Dog Unit, to introduce the professional, diversified and challenging work of the Force to the participants. In the last session, a squad of Recruit Police Constables (RPCs) shared with the participants their training life in the Police College. The seminar was well received and over 280 on-site applications for police job were received.
