Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Siu Chak-yee presented a certificate to 16 participants of the Companion Programme organised by the Police Mentorship Programme Alumni (PMPA) at a graduation ceremony on August 10.

The eight-week Companion Programme was launched in May with an aim to enhancing members' personal qualities, leadership and team spirit. Sixteen participants from different field, such as universities, the banking sector and the civil service, joined the programme to receive training in interview skills, public speaking and fitness training and to attend a sharing of command and management experience by police officers.

Mr Siu thanked the PMPA for designing such a meaningful training programme for the participants. He stated that the PMPA would always be the companion for PMP members, and encouraged the participants to stay responsive to the ever-changing society, and make preparations if they are determined to be a Police Inspector.

The PMPA was founded in 2014 to sustain the bonding between the alumni of the PMP and the Force. It has developed into a big family with 389 incumbent members. Last year, they took part in a variety of activities, including volunteer work, visits to police facilities and curry lunch gathering.
