Group Director and Vice Chairman of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP) Mrs Yuen So Siu-mai pledged full support to CLP staff to join the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF). They would organise recruitment talks for their staff on auxiliary police work and allow their employees to take a maximum of five days of training leave from January 1 this year for attending the annual training of the HKAPF.

Mrs Yuen made the remarks at a curry lunch hosted by Commandant of HKAPF Yang Joe-tsi for CLP's senior management at the HKAPF Headquarters on November 30, 2017. She thanked both the regular and the auxiliary police for working with the CLP to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the community. Currently, eight auxiliary officers work in the CLP as their principal employment.

Also taking part in the lunch gathering, Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung pointed out that auxiliary officers play a very important role in supporting the regular police. He looked forward to the continued support from the CLP for their auxiliary police staff to attend the HKAPF's Annual Continuation Training.

On behalf of the HKAPF, Mr Yang thanked the CLP for its support. Noting that auxiliary officers serve the community during their spare time, he said that they also apply what they have learnt from the HKAPF in their principal employment, resulting in a win-win situation.

Other CLP guests at the event were Managing Director-Hong Kong Mr Chiang Tung-keung, Chief Corporate Development Officer Ms Chong Wai-yan and Human Resources Director Ms Lam Tsui-wa. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong, Chief Superintendent of the Human Resources Branch Kong Man-keung, Acting Chief Superintendent (Support) Mark Anstiss and four auxiliary officers serving in the CLP also attended the gathering.
