Several victims of a robbery case and a deception case presented tapestry flags to Commander of Mong Kok District (MKDIST) Kerry Carew, Deputy Commander Lee Chung-wah, Assistant Commander (Crime) Chung Chi-ming, Chief Inspector Crime (2) Ng Tak-nam and officers of District Crime Squad (1) and District Investigation Team (9) (DIT 9) on November 17, 2017, in recognition of their efforts in detecting the victims' cases.

The robbery case occurred on January 4 last year, during which a couple were robbed of US$70,000 and HK$70,000 at a rear staircase of a mall in Mong Kok. They called the police for help and District Crime Squad (1) of MKDIST swiftly arrested the suspect and recovered the money. The suspect was prosecuted and was sentenced to imprisonment for 32 months.

Meanwhile, DIT 9 took over the investigation of the deception case and found that some 20 victims had been cheated of money ranging from HK$400 to HK$1,200 by a suspect last August and September. The suspect claimed that he had no cash on hand and borrowed money from the victims. Eventually the suspect was arrested and was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
