President Xi Jinping extended Chinese New Year greetings and words of encouragement to members of Hong Kong Junior Police Call (JPC) on February 14 after receiving a Spring Festival card from them. He had met with some JPC members during a visit to JPC@Pat Heung in June last year.

Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG) Mr Wang Zhimin presented President Xi's letter of reply to 26 JPC members at the headquarters of LOCPG on February 15. He read the letter to the members and conveyed President Xi's best wishes to youngsters in Hong Kong. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung, who accompanied the JPC members to the LOCPG, expressed gratitude to President Xi on behalf of the Force and JPC members. Mr Wang then led the JPC members to tour the facilities at the LOCPG headquarters.

During a follow-up media interview, the JPC members said that with the approach of the Spring Festival, they sent a three-dimensional greeting card to President Xi and his wife. They felt much honoured and ecstatic that President Xi spared time to send a reply to them. Hence, they extended their seasonal greetings to President Xi and his wife once more and looked forward to meeting him again.
