The Force showcased the multi-faceted and challenging nature of its work in its booth at the Education and Careers Expo from February 1 to 4 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Thousands of people visited the booth. Recruitment information was also available and a record number of over 1 500 applications for police posts were received on the spot.

Under the theme of "Serve and Protect our Hong Kong", a total of 19 Police units and secondary duty cadres, such as the Airport Security Unit, the Emergency Unit, the Counter Terrorism Response Unit, the Force Search Unit and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Bureau, took turns to introduce their job duties, uniforms and equipment to the visitors. The EOD displayed the shells of two World War II-era bombs discovered in January at a construction site in Wan Chai. The EOD officers also shared the challenge of defusing the bombs.

On the other hand, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau displayed its equipment for investigating technology crime and processing digital evidence. The Police Band members, dressed in their ceremonial uniforms, played clarinets and bagpipes whilst instructors from the Drill and Musketry Unit demonstrated foot drill. This was the first time for the three units to take part in the Expo.

Commissioner Lo Wai-chung, Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chiu Wai-yin, Director of Personnel and Training Li Kin-fai, Commandant of Auxiliary Police Yang Joe-tsi, Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Siu Chak-yee, and a number of senior officers visited the police booth to show their support.

Meanwhile, officers from the Recruitment Division gave a talk to visitors about the entry requirements, selection process and career path of police officers. Interested persons submitted on-site application and underwent initial screening there. Non-ethnic Chinese and mentees of the Project GROWTH served as volunteers in the event. Souvenirs were given to visitors who joined an interactive electronic game at the booth.
