The Stores Management Division (SMD) held two seminars on December 13, 2017, and January 15, with the participation of about 400 officers and civilians responsible for administrative and support duties.

During the seminar in January, Chief Corruption Prevention Officer Ms Jennifer Luke of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) shared tips in preventing corruption in government procurement and showed a video about corruption cases. SMD officers then talked about the principles of government procurement, the standard procurement procedures and monitoring of contract compliance.

The other seminar focused on the Police Stores' services, a review of its major work last year and an outlook of the challenges ahead. The Police Stores would continue to improve its service quality, for example, by adding photographs of stock items in its stores management system, STORESMAN II, for Force members' easy reference.

The participants actively expressed their views in a question-and-answer session. After careful consideration, the SMD has adopted some of their suggestions, one of which was an increase in the stock size of women's winter uniform trousers. The relevant information of the seminars has been uploaded to the POINT's SMD webpage for Force members' reference.
