The Senior Force Management and the Police College thanked the Honorary College Advisors for their service at an annual gathering on February 2. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung took the occasion to present Certificates of Appointment to four new Advisors and other reappointed Advisors.

The new Advisors are retired Deputy Director of Police College Dr Cheng Tak-ming, Specialist in Psychiatry Dr Fan Tak-wing, Director of the Centre for Applied Computing and Interactive Media at City University of Hong Kong Professor Jeffrey Shaw, and a retired Permanent Magistrate/Deputy District Court Judge, Mr Wong Yu-wing.

The Commissioner said that the longstanding support of the Advisors is vital to the delivery of professional training for officers. He thanked the Advisors for their sharing in the field of Police Oriented Tactical Emergency Medicine Course, knowledge management, training technology, leadership and decision-making skills, coaching, communication skills, emotional fitness, physical training, quality assurance, court procedures and other topics concerned. This enabled the College to develop quality training programmes that benefited its officers, the Force and ultimately the community at large.

This Honorary Appointment Scheme was launched in 2006 and the latest appointment brought the total number of Advisors to 24.
