A Force-wide photo competition on "The Treasurable Departmental Quarters", organised for the first time by the Police Quartering Division (PQD), attracted a large number of high-quality entries. An adjudicating panel, headed by Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Siu Chak-yee, selected nine winning entries on January 15.

The competition was run under the Police Staff Motivation Scheme from last November to December to foster a sense of belonging among officers. It aimed to convey the message that departmental quarters are valuable resources, as they provide not simply shelters but also homes for colleagues and their families.

Superintendent Pang Siu-chun of PQD presented certificates and prizes to the champion team, two runners-up and six winners of merit awards at a prize presentation ceremony on January 31.

The champion team members, namely Sergeant Cheung Chi-lung and Police Constables To Chi-ho and Wong Pui-yi, said the competition reminded them to cherish departmental quarters and to appreciate the support given by the Force to their families. The first and second runners-up, Inspector Tsang Hei-man and Sergeant Lau Kwok-man respectively, shared the same view and hoped that the PQD would continue the quality management of the quarters. All the winning entries would be put on display at the PQD on 38/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters.
