The Kowloon East Region Happy Teen Sports Day 2018 came to a successful conclusion on April 22, with over 300 local and non-ethnic Chinese students, community leaders and officers enjoying sports challenges at a school in Lam Tin.

The event not only provided a platform for the secondary school students to demonstrate their sporting prowess and enjoy the fun of exercise, but also enabled them to interact with officers. The students teamed up with officers to take part in a basketball competition, team building challenges, yoga and fun games. A performance by a rope skipping team and a symphonic band of SKH Lee Shiu Keung Primary School received applause from the audience.

Officiating at the prize presentation ceremony were Regional Commander of Kowloon East (KE) Cheung Ching, KE Deputy Regional Commander James Betts, Formation Commanders in KE, KE Happy Teen Honorary Presidents and Hong Kong Olympic gymnast Ms Wong Hiu-ying. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Cheung said that KE Region endeavours to enhance interaction as well as mutual trust and understanding between students and officers through KE Happy Teen events, including sports day, music festival and open day. She encouraged students to cherish learning opportunities in schools and beware of cyber traps. Meanwhile, Ms Wong shared with the students how she overcame challenges in sports, highlighting her "never give up" attitude.
