The annual Police Athletics Championship took place at Wan Chai Sports Ground on May 7, with Commissioner Lo Wai-chung and other senior officers officiating at an award presentation ceremony. All athletes did their very utmost to achieve the best results.

In the 4x100 metres relay at the Major Formation Challenge, the Operations Wing beat Crime Wing and New Territories South Region to clinch the championship. New Territories North Regional Headquarters and the Police College won respectively in the categories of Other Formations/Units and Specialist/Training Units.

For individual events, Police Constable Tsoi Yun-faat of Tsuen Wan District and Police Constable Ng Chui-wa of Police College captured the championship in men's open and women's categories respectively whilst Sergeant Ng Tai-wai of Police College came first in the senior and master category.

This year, members of Project Legacy, Project Growth and Police Mentorship Programme were invited to compete with Force members in 4x100 metres relays. Both the Force members and the student members of the projects enjoyed the race.

Meanwhile, to extend sincere condolences to a former elite runner of the Police Athletics Club, the late Police Constable Ng Tak-wo, the men's 10 000-metre race was named "NG Tak-wo Memorial Run". A condolence corner was set up at the sports ground and a mourning session was held prior to the race.
