New Territories South (NTS) and Kowloon West (KW) Regions established a platform for intelligence gathering and crime prevention in collaboration with the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRC) at properties under its management.

In this connection, a crime prevention seminar was held at NTS Regional Headquarters on April 30, with the presence of MTRC Head of Property Management Mr Kenny Chow, General Manager of Corporate Security Mr Ray Ng and 28 property managers.

Speaking at the seminar, NTS Regional Commander Patrick Laidler expressed his gratitude to the MTRC for joining hands with the Police to prevent and combat crime. Then the Regional Crime Prevention Office (RCPO) of NTS and RCPO KW outlined Project eSecuNet and Project Vanguard respectively to the participants to reinforce police-community co-operation. Property management representatives of MTRC pledged to assist the Police in disseminating crime information, such as modus operandi and crime trends, in their housing estates to raise residents' crime awareness. In addition, officers from the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) briefed the MTRC staff on the latest fraud trends, the operation of ADCC and steps to be taken in case of suspected deception.

To conclude the event, Mr Chow from the MTRC applauded the seminar for raising the crime alertness of MTRC personnel as well as enhancing police efficiency in preventing and fighting crime. This achieved a win-win situation for all parties.
