New Territories South (NTS) Regional Headquarters rolled out a summer youth crime prevention campaign, codenamed "STORMBREAKER", from June to September. The campaign was kicked off with a bus parade on June 20.

The campaign aimed to prevent youngsters from falling prey to crime, with the themes of "Stand Firm! Knock Drugs Out", "Beware of Deception", "Anti-shop Theft" and "Guard Against Sexual Assault".

NTS Regional Commander Patrick Laidler officiated at the kick-off ceremony of the bus parade. He thanked members of Junior Police Call (JPC) for their participation and encouraged students to actively take part in summer activities, stay away from crime and say "No" to undesirable associates. Also taking part in the ceremony were Senior Superintendent (Crime NTS) Ho Chun-chung, Superintendent (Administration and Support) (Crime NTS) Ip Kan-chi and JPC members from various Districts of NTS.

Following the ceremony, the officers led JPC members to spread crime prevention messages along the parade route and distributed publicity leaflets to passers by.
