Mong Kok District (MKDIST) held several sharing sessions on handling of public events for newly passing-out officers posted to the District, members of the second Incident Response Cadre (IRC), the Police Tactical Unit Y Company of Kowloon West Region and the Operations Wing's Police Tactical Unit Operations (Contingent 2) F Company in the third quarter of 2018.

Co-ordinated by Assistant Commander (Operations) of MKDIST Lee Cho-ming, the sharing offered an opportunity for officers from the Event Management Office (EMO) of MKDIST to outline their contingency plans and strategies for handling large-scale public events. They also explained the uniqueness, geographical setting and trend of local public events. This would enhance the participants' ability in managing public events and strengthen their communication with work partners.

On the other hand, the second IRC, consisting of officers from Patrol Sub-Units and Task Force Sub-Units, was established recently. New members of IRC would be equipped with skills and knowledge for dealing with unexpected public events. The training would enhance their confidence and professional capability to support other frontline units.
