The Police Squash Club (PSC) received awards at a prize presentation ceremony of the Winter League 2017-2018 organised by Hong Kong Squash on July 29.

The PSC sent three teams of about 30 players to participate in the competition. The teams came out of the league with flying colours. Police Ladies Team "Polladies" emerged as the first runner-up in Division Three of Ladies League, while "Police 1" was ranked the third runner-up in Division Eight of Main League. Both teams were qualified to enter the knockout stage and subsequently both ranked the third in their respective Division.

Among the Force's outstanding players were Ms Chan Wing-ki, who topped the individual player ranking in her Division with 14 straight wins in the league; and Mr So Sing-yan, who was also ranked the first in his Division with 10 victories throughout the season. Chairman of PSC Mr Kong Yiu-kai was satisfied with the results and appreciated all team members' efforts. He also thanked the retired and affiliated members for their contribution, and encouraged more Force members to join the club.

Meanwhile, the PSC held a friendly match with the squash team of the Correctional Services Department for the second year in a row at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on July 28. Over 20 officers from both departments took part in about 40 intense competitions. The event enabled players from both sides to test their skills, and shared their experience in promoting squash. Mr Kong thanked the two teams and hoped that the friendly match would be developed into an annual major event.

Force members who would like to join the PSC are welcome to contact representatives of the club, Senior Police Constable Chan Kwok-ming on 6199-4744 or Police Constable Chan Wing-ki on 6420-0064.
